How To Join

Credit unions are not open to the public; you must meet certain eligibility requirements to join. You and your business are eligible for an account at South Metro Federal Credit Union if: 

• You live or work in Scott County, Minnesota, or
• An immediate relative (sibling, spouse, parent or child) is already a member of South Metro Federal Credit Union

If you meet one of these requirements, simply complete a membership application and  make an initial deposit of $5. A minimum deposit of $100 is required to open a checking with interest account, and a photo copy of your drivers license or picture ID (signed) is required. Stop into one of our offices and set up a CU Member Business account today!

Your Employees Can Join, Too!

If your business has an account at SMFCU, then your employees are also eligible to join. That means they too, can share in the benefits that a not-for-profit financial institution provides.
